How to calculate force from velocity and mass?
Steps to calculate force from velocity and mass
- Firstly, you need to calculate the acceleration of the body. We can find the acceleration (a) using the formula:
a = ∆v / ∆t
where:
∆v = change in velocity
∆t = change in time - Once you have the value of acceleration, you can then find the force using the second law of motion which states:
F = m * a
where:
F = force, m = mass and a = acceleration.
Note:
In Physics, it's important to note that this calculation applies only when the mass of the object is constant and the force applied leads to a linear acceleration.
